EA Cancels Online Passes

In a sudden stroke of genius, EA has finally decided to discontinue their online passes for games. It’s about goddamn time, assholes!!

Venture Beat‘s Jason Wilson reports that EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg confirmed via e-mail to GamesBeat that “None of our new EA titles will include that feature.”

Online passes were created to generate revenue off of consumers that bought popular multiplayer games like Battlefield  and Madden secondhand. Passes were offered at a fee if a game was not purchased new, but consumers will no longer have to worry about this abomination anymore, as far as Electronic Arts titles go.

no more online pass
